Good Shepherd Church was established in the capital city of Kigali, Rwanda, in 1995 by Pastor Simon Nziramakenga. Since that time it has grown to more than 1,000 members and on December 18, 2013, the congregation moved into its newly completed sanctuary. From this “mother church” in Remera township, 26 other congregations have been established in other towns in Rwanda. Good Shepherd Church operates a primary school on the church property for more than 200 needy children and an orthopedic clinic.
Simon Nziramakenga is pastor of Good Shepherd Church in Kigali, Rwanda, and coordinator of the 26 other Good Shepherd Churches throughout Rwanda. For many years he served with Campus Crusade for Christ in Nairobi, Kenya, and as worship leader at Good Shepherd Africa Gospel Church in Nairobi. He and his wife Kedress have four grown children: Gad, Faith, Paul, and Nehemiah.
